First came the supermarket war, now begins the battle of the petrol forecourts. Britain’s biggest three supermarket chains are now reducing petrol prices. Sainsbury’s started by stating that they would cut petrol and diesel by up to 5p a litre. Asda responded by cuts of 1p and 2p for petrol and diesel respectively. Finally Tesco hit back by declaring petrol and diesel cuts of 5p per litre . With fuel prices at the lowest since 2010, it is sure to be a welcome change for motorists.
